WE ARE BIOINFO

Bioinformatics

Interdisciplinary science at the intersection of computation, biology, and systems thinking.

About us

Computing that Transforms Lives

We are a research group dedicated to developing computational methods to address challenges in the Life Sciences. We bring together researchers and students from diverse backgrounds in an interdisciplinary environment. Our research encompasses structural bioinformatics, artificial intelligence for the Life Sciences, molecular modeling, biomolecular interaction analysis, the design of bioactive peptides, and related fields. We combine scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration to educate the next generation of researchers, develop computational tools, and create solutions with impact in healthcare, biotechnology, and the bioeconomy.

I want to join LBS

We are a research group dedicated to training high-performance researchers at the frontier of bioinformatics and computer science, hosted in the Department of Computer Science at UFMG.

Founded in 2003, LBS brings together specialists in computing and the biological sciences and has produced high-quality research ever since — pairing scientific rigor with tool-building and intense collaboration.
