Our story

Founded in 2010 by Prof. Wanger Meira Junior, the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Systems (LBS) was established with the mission of developing computational solutions for challenges in the Life Sciences. Over the years, it has become a center of excellence in Bioinformatics, bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds to conduct impactful research, educate highly qualified scientists, and develop computational tools widely used by the scientific community. Today, the laboratory is led by Prof. Raquel Cardoso de Melo-Minardi and Prof. Marcos Augusto dos Santos, continuing its commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
